A Wedding Gift of Giving

Casey Wright and Clifton Watts

Casey Wright, a 4th grade teacher at Newport Elementary School in Houston, is a soon-to-be newlywed. She and her fiancé, Clifton Watts, are planning to say “I do” this summer in their hometown of Jefferson, TX. As they thought about their plans and wedding registry, they both agreed that they wanted to receive gifts that make a difference. Casey knew that her wedding shower would be a wonderful opportunity to collect gifts that could be used to help deserving orphans, and contacted Cares for Kids to fulfill her wish.

Cares for Kids, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the needs of less fortunate children around the world. We’ve collected and distributed thousands of gifts to children overseas and here in the U.S. We have selected an orphanage in Matamoras, Mexico to receive the items from this project, in Casey and Clifton’s name.

What to Give

Casey is asking the staff of Newport Elementary to make
a contribution to Cares for Kids in her honor, as her wedding shower gift, which will benefit the Matamoras orphanage. Monetary donations are preferred over in-kind donations,
to avoid the international duties and transportation costs of importing in-kind gifts.
Matamoras orphanage
Ms. Casey Wright is asking the students of Newport Elementary School Family to bring the orphanage’s needed items to school to distribute for the children of the Matamoras orphanage.
The donation drive will be held April 23rd-May 11th. Parents may make a secure online monetary donation for this cause, but are asked to not send students to school with monetary donations.
